ABOUT THE OPEN FORUMS
Since gaining independence in 1991, the Republic of Macedonia has transformed itself from a one party socialist state to a vibrant democracy and resilient economy. It has contributed to peace, stability and development in South Eastern Europe, Iraq and Afghanistan. Macedonia is now qualified to join NATO, the EU and engage with the Asia-Pacific in search for a sustainable future. Its sovereignty and right to self-identification has been strongly supported by 128 member states in the United Nations. The Macedonian diaspora in Australia, Europe, and North America has played an important role in this transformation and repositioning.
